Kody Epps and Chris Brooks are injured, and life is Pain.

BYU fans have been subjected to a lot of pain and suffering during their lives as loyal, strong and true fans of our Cougs. It’s what comes with the territory. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that what was looked at as one of the talented, high-ceiling BYU teams of all time has become a spiraling plane crash out of a Mission Impossible Movie. We’re all just Tom Cruise hanging on the side for dear life.

That plane finally hit the ground in a glorious explosion in the form of 41 points and over 500 yards of offense by Liberty. Yes, LIBERTY. As if losing to a team that has only existed since 2018 (anything pre-FBS doesn’t count let’s be real) wasn’t already the fiery end we needed, our shining star of a receiver may be out for an extended period of time.

I mean, what else can happen? We’ve already watched Puka, Gunner and Chase miss games with injuries. Max Tooley got hurt after a strong start to the season and hasn’t been the same since. Miles Davis broke out with 131 yards vs Wyoming only to miss the Notre Dame and Arkansas games. And Jaren Hall’s shoulder is evidently being held together with duct tape and consecrated oil. Now our beloved Kody Epps is hurt, along with Chris Brooks who has finally started to look like the coveted Cal transfer that we were excited for.

Everything hurts.

P.S. How are we “not sure” if Kody Epps will miss significant time? I’m pretty sure Web MD can give you a timetable for return after eating some Panda Express. But a team of doctors can’t give an ETA for an injured player? Add it to the list of frustrations, if there’s any room left on that list.
